I’ve had a question in my head since the day I started in cybersecurity:
How do we do it better?
Better policies. Better systems. Better hardware and software. But most importantly—better culture.
It’s not enough to patch a vulnerability if we’re still ignoring burnout. It’s not enough to train users if we don’t trust them. And it’s definitely not enough to talk about threats without talking about the people behind the screens—both the ones defending and the ones just trying to make it through their day safely.
So who am I?
I’m Eryn. I’m a cybersecurity expert with over 14 years in the field, a lifelong storyteller, and someone who believes we can do it better—not just in our tech, but in how we treat each other.
My work spans SOC operations, phishing defense, vendor access security, and behavioral training. I’ve been the one pulling logs at 2 a.m., the one translating tech to leadership, and the one reminding the room that users aren’t the enemy. But through it all, the thread that grounds me is people. My work- and my life- is rooted in protecting what matters: our families and our futures.
My voice. My mission.
I tell stories about the systems we build, the people they protect, and the unseen side of cybersecurity—the culture, the burnout, the failures, and the unsung successes. All with one goal: to do it better.
I’m starting this site so I can share what I’ve learned, what I’m still learning, and what I hope we can do differently.
Some posts will be deep-dive investigations. Some will be philosophical. Some will be practical and grounded in the everyday reality of a security team just trying to get one step ahead. But all of it will be people-first.
Because I believe security isn’t just about stopping bad actors—it’s about protecting good people. And that means building with care, with intention, and with a hell of a lot more heart.
Thanks for being here.
Let’s do it better—together.
